Ayah ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Ayah mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Camera Images. When you use the camera capture feature, the App sends the photograph to an AI service for object identification. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers after processing is complete.

Learning Progress. Your learning data — including learned words, quiz scores, streak history, and curriculum progress — is stored locally on your device. We do not transmit or store this data on any external server.

Subscription Information. If you subscribe to Ayah Premium, your payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses.

No User Accounts. Ayah does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifiers.

2. How We Use AI

When you capture a photograph, the image is sent to an AI service (Anthropic Claude) via a secure proxy to identify the object and provide its Arabic translation, pronunciation, and Quranic connections.

  • Images are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • Images are processed in real-time and are not retained after the response is generated.
  • Your images are not used to train or improve AI models.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — for object identification and Arabic translation. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase — as a secure API proxy layer. No user data is stored in Supabase.
  • Apple StoreKit — for subscription management, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not use any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking tools.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • All learning data is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms.
  • There is no cloud sync, no remote database, and no server-side storage of your personal data.
  • Camera images are transmitted securely (HTTPS) and are not stored on any server after processing.

5. Children's Privacy

Ayah is designed for users aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Your Rights

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it:

  • Delete all data: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
  • Manage subscriptions:You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions).

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
